Carefully selected fabrics, many of which are locally sourced, chosen to coordinate with each other to create a range of useful items which can be washed and reused time and time again.
Each item is made with care from the selected beautiful woven cottons or cotton jersey.
As a small business I hold limited amounts of fabric, once it's gone....it's gone.
No two items are the same, each is individual & unique, just like us.
I make each item by hand with the help of my trusty sewing machine.
A small Cornish business run by Tanya, mummy of four, from a dining room looking out across the sea .
A former fine art degree student with a love of textiles and print design, inspired by the colours of the coast and countryside in Cornwall
The business started with an idea and an old sewing machine on a dining table during baby's nap time in 2011.
With the ever increasing amount of single use items made available, mainly made from plastic and then sadly discarded around our precious planet after they have been used, we need to find more sustainable products to replace those that we would normally dispose of.....these products do not have to be boring.
Stitchstuff Cornwall is part of the Made in Cornwall scheme - everything is made here in St Austell, it is not mass produced and fabrics are sourced locally where possible.
The majority of the fabric I use carries the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certificate - this means the fabric has been tested for harmful substances.
Eventually ALL the woven & jersey fabric I use will be Oeko-Tex.
Please see product listings for each individual item's fabric details.
